Dear Fellow Pilgrim,
As
we commemorate the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus
Christ this Easter weekend, reflect on the remarkable truth that unlike
all the other religions of the world, Christianity is uniquely rooted in
history and evidence. Jesus of Nazareth was born in Bethlehem in Judea
during the reign of Caesar Augustus and was put to death under Pontius
Pilate, a first century Roman governor. The proclamation of his life,
death, and resurrection is validated both by credible eyewitness
testimony and by credible extra-biblical testimony as well. No other
religion can legitimately claim this kind of support from history and
evidence.
Thus the apostle Paul boldly announced to the people of Athens,
“In the past God overlooked ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead” (Acts 17:30–31).
He is Risen!
He is Risen indeed!
He is Risen indeed!
